Lime for agriculture
Fertile and healthy soils are the basis for stable yields, efficient fertilisation and sustainable agricultural success. Calmit’s agricultural division supports farmers with sound advice, precise soil analyses and individual measures to improve soil quality. One focus is on targeted liming – a proven method for neutralising acidic soils, increasing nutrient availability and promoting a stable soil structure. The use of lime is an indispensable part of modern agricultural practices.
With our agricultural products, we offer the right solution for every soil condition.

Quicklime (calcium oxide) – Agrocal 95
Quicklime is a highly reactive calcium fertiliser based on calcium oxide (CaO). It is suitable for acidic and alkaline soils but can also be used in other locations as a fertiliser lime for calcium supply and soil improvement in agriculture.
Due to its high reactivity and water solubility, the calcium is quickly available to plants and effective. The rapid chemical reaction with soil water leads to the formation of calcium hydroxide, which quickly raises the pH value and improves the soil structure. This promotes crumb formation, aeration and water balance in the soil and increases resistance to drought stress.
Application:
Quicklime can be applied using standard fertiliser spreaders. Our soil liming product (Agrocal 95) is available in big bags.
Moist lime and moist lime Mg (calcium carbonate) – Agrocal Mill 53 / Agrocal Mill Mg
Wet lime is a high-quality, moistened natural lime based on calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) which has been specially developed for targeted soil improvement in agriculture. It is particularly suitable for liming acidic soils but can also be used on other soil types as an effective calcium fertiliser and to increase the pH value. The fine grain size ensures even distribution in the soil and enables a rapid reaction after the fertiliser lime has been applied. Its use contributes significantly to stabilising the pH value and improves the soil structure in the long term – a key factor for healthy plant development, stable yields and efficient nutrient uptake. Wet lime Mg also provides the soil and plants with sufficient magnesium.
Advantages and application:
Wet lime is a cost-effective solution for liming and is ideal for farmers who want to maintain their soil in an economical and sustainable way. It promotes crumb formation, improves drainage and increases the water storage capacity of the soil, which also improves irrigation efficiency. In addition, wet lime supports the activity of soil microorganisms. Wet lime is approved for organic farming.

Wet gypsum (calcium sulphate) – Agrocal Gypsum
Wet gypsum is particularly suitable for saline and sodium-rich soils. However, wet gypsum can be used on all soils as a sustainable sulphur and calcium fertiliser. Unlike quicklime or wet lime, gypsum does not significantly alter the pH but provides calcium and sulphur in a form that is available to plants. Due to its slow and continuous solubility, gypsum releases calcium (Ca) and sulphur (S) over a longer period of time. This sustainably improves nutrient supply, soil life and crumb structure.
Advantages and application:
Regular application of Agrocal Gypsum promotes soil aeration and water conductivity, reduces salinisation and supports microbial activity. Gypsum contributes to soil improvement and increases the efficiency of fertilisation and plant protection especially under drought stress conditions.
