Leading in carbonates and minerals
The Calmit Group comprises eight companies with locations in five European countries and distributes its products worldwide. With annual sales of around 100 million euros, the group employs a total of approximately 450 people. As a subsidiary of Schmid Industrieholding (Austria) and the Calcinor Group (Spain), Calmit stands for the highest quality standards and a special responsibility towards the environment and society. The companies of Calmit Holding are active in the production of limestone, burnt lime products and calcium carbonates, as well as in the mining and processing of minerals. In addition to limestone and talc, other minerals are also processed into a wide range of products for a variety of applications.

For the Calmit Group, sustainability is not a passing fad, but a commitment that is put into practice. Economic progress must always be balanced with social responsibility and environmental compatibility. As owner Robert Schmid emphasises: "Sustainability is not a trend, it is our damn duty." This commitment is evident in all areas of the company – from resource-saving raw material extraction and closed-loop recycling to investment in green energy and ongoing research into reducing energy consumption. The environmentally friendly treatment of wastewater in closed water cycles and the sustainable development of our employees are further central components of our activities. Calmit is setting a clear example for the region and making an active contribution to achieving the EU's climate targets.

The consistently high quality of our lime products and minerals builds trust among our customers. Our products are used in the construction and paper industries, in road construction, in the plastics and steel industries, in the agricultural sector, in the chemical industry and in many other areas. For Calmit, quality is not an optional goal, but a must. In addition, the group is characterised by its flexibility and individuality. As a family-owned company with a lean organisation and short decision-making processes, we can react quickly to market changes and offer innovative solutions.
