Fine lime or milled lime from Calmit is produced by grinding high-purity quicklime. The product is available in CL 90 or CL 80 grades in accordance with EN 459-1 and is characterised by particularly good solubility and reactivity. The fine grinding ensures a uniform grain structure and makes fine lime the ideal raw material for numerous applications in construction, industry and environmental protection.
Areas of application
Fine lime is used in the construction industry to produce slaked lime (lime putty), for mortar mixed on site for bricklaying and plastering, as well as for coatings and soil stabilisation – hence the name building lime. In the environmental sector, ground lime is used for flue gas cleaning, wastewater treatment and the neutralisation of acidic wastewater. In agriculture, ground quicklime is used as a fertiliser and disinfectant. Fine lime is also an important raw material in paper and steel production, for example for pH regulation and as a filler. Its high reactivity and fine grain structure enable fast and efficient conversion in the respective processes.
